How to join as a partner?
The following details are key to determine what types of trees are accepted in the protocol. Please make sure you do and proceed to complete the next steps.
Requirements
- For now only native trees can be submitted
- Trees with a clear incentive to be cut down in the short or mid term aren't accepted
- Reforestation efforts should involve communities
- Only trees that haven't been funded by third parties can be submitted
- Once a tree is submitted to Treejer, their future carbon credits can't be sold to third parties
Next steps
Each partnering community needs to provide a minimum amount of trees to the Treejer protocol initially. Also, the first 9 communities (Green Blocks) will benefit from additional opportunities for the first 1000 trees they supply. More information will be announced soon. At the end of each step, you're required to send an output of your works to Treejer so we can promote your project in our community.
1. Start a Green Block
Green Block is a community of tree planters who supply trees to the Treejer protocol. In Treejer, each Green Block consists of a community of 5 planters. Start talking about Treejer to your community and choose the best people to work with:
- Make sure each planter has a smart phone.
- Choose the ones with higher technological literacy
📝 Output
- Name of tree planters (Green Block members)
- Location of the Green Block
2. Plant the first batch of trees
Start with planting 1000 trees (max 5000 for now). Choose location, tree species and the rural communities to start Green Blocks (community of rural planters who supply trees to the Treejer protocol)
📝 Output
- Your plantation timeline
- Tree species
- Your potential challenges (so we can help you speed up the process)
3. Share the story with Treejer
The best thing to offer to funders is sharing the story of trees and the people who plant them. They love to know more about the local communities and their impact. At Treejer, we're doing our best to create the tools to facilitate this connection. Send photos and videos of trees and rural planters to be shared on Treejer's channels, so it helps fund the trees you plant. The more stories you share, the higher probability of getting your trees funded. Some good content ideas are listed here:
📝 Output
- Min. 5 photos of trees (required)
- A one-minute video of the trees and the location (required)
- A one-minute Green Block introduction video (optional but recommended)
Tip: In the introduction video, one of the planters can introduce your Green Block while they're showing the trees and sharing information about the trees, planters and the location. It's recommended to record it with trees in the background.
4. Install Treejer's Ranger app (late July)
Once you've planted the trees and shared the story with us, we'll send you the links to install the Ranger app, a mobile application that helps you:
- Add your Green Block to Treejer
- Submit your new trees so they can be funded
- Get paid directly in the app by giving quarterly updates from funded trees
You'll also receive help in using the application from our team.
📝 Output
- Your Green Block is successfully added to Treejer
- You've started submitting/updating your trees
Thanks for taking the time to look at this guide. If you have any questions, please ask them by replying to this discussion. If you meet the requirements and are ready to partner with Treejer, send an email to [email protected] and let us know what we can do together.
